Hi folks,

I'm currently looking out for a good A/V receiver and my primary requirements are for watching hidef movies, certain extent of music though its going to be more of movies.

I have listed to the yamaha RXV465 & the denon AVR1910 receiver's in a retail store for a short time and I found both to be pretty good though I somehow felt that the Denon one had more sound coming out of it. What am also observing in the posts around here is the Denon AVR1910's capabilities and was trying to find out against these two receivers, which one is the better one?

Can someone post their experiences for both receivers? My choices are between the above two only.

Secondly, the Denon receiver's output states 90W per channel so is that good enough for an apartment room size of around 12 X 15?

thanks.

the denon 1900 is a more direct competitor to the Rx-V665.

the denon will be the better reciever than the yammie 465 in every respect but pricier too. if price is not a constraint go for the denon.

Thanks guys. Is the Denon really worth even for listening to music(even mp3)? I'm trying to match with a Velodyne sub.

Today I got to hear from someone that in the future if we need to upgrade for watching 3D content stuff then Denon's might not be the best choice simply because Denon receiver's seem to overlay a 1080p signal over it - which will cause a 3D media content to be displayed in 2D format. Seems the yamaha & sony receivers would allow the 3D content(over hdmi 1.4) to be passthrough but Denon's might not be able to.

Though I know 3D content capability would still take some time to be accepted and followed everywhere.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
