So one company owns them all now .. Only Yamaha is independent of this group of mainstream AVRs.

Not a good news from buyers point of view...
Competitive Prices are going to be under the control of one company!

After sales Service for Onkyo may improve substantially, better for onkyo owners.

Onkyo does not service anything that is bought out of India, even if is not under warranty and being a paid service. Hope this would change now.

Bowers & Wilkins has responded to Sound United's earlier announcement regarding its intention to acquire the British speaker brand...

...
Well Sound United were suppose to acquire Onkyo too, which didn't happen in the end. They are an Investor(equity) company so lets see what happens in few months. Anyways if this happens won't make any difference to the Brand.

Cheers.

Normally these private equity funds don’t really give a damn about anything but getting to multiply their money. That may happen through any means ie sale of patents, real estate, assets or products / services. Most firms who’re acquired by these vultures have ended up loosing their soul. Audio innovation is a passion which may take its time in profitability, it’s been true in the past.

Looks like this is now finalized. https://www.soundunited.com/news/Sound United Finalizes Acquisition of Bowers and Wilkins

With all due respect, using "vulture" is not appropriate. If the business are run solely on passion, then the owners would not sell it off to someone else, rather fade away and end up being poor like Tesla.

I am assuming you are referring to the person Tesla and not the motor brand :)

Sound United seems to be adding more "feathers in their cap".
Interesting lineup of brands; Denon, Marantz, Polk, DefTech, Boston Acoustics, Classe and now B&W
Cheers,
Raghu

There are creating big portfolio of major Audio electronics and speakers. Its like Cisco do the expansion through acquisition, which they are doing for past 25+ years in the network Industry..

Yes. BW, Rotel and Classe were a group earlier
Cheers,
Raghu
Rotel is out of the B&W group since a while, it is now with Sumiko i think.

Hope Sound United don't screw up B&W brand as they are really premium & have a huge fan following.

Lets see what happens in the future.
