Different SD and HD Channels Contents.

I just got Tata Sky HD Today. What I observed was something strange between the HD and SD Channel( Sony and Star Plus) Both channels had different things running on them at a given point of time. Is this happening with all providers. So do we miss out on some stuff on One TV which we don't see in another.

Someone with more experience and knowledge can please comment.

Nat Geo, Discovery, Sports: Different content and schedule as not all programs are recorded in HD

Movie channels: Same content, same start times, but time lag due to less ads in HD.

I don't watch series, so I have no info on what happens in other HD channels.

I thought Star Movies was simulcast. Though its been a while I've seen the SD version...

Contents of Movies Now HD and History TV18 HD and SD are same but SD versions of other HD channels may not have the same content as their corresponding HD channel.

Star Movies have different schedule but will telecast the same movies..i guess its the same except espn hd, discovery hd and ngc hd which telecasts completely different movies.

Star movies HD have very less ad breaks and hence the movie finishes quickly. The remainder time is used by fillers or sneak peeks. Same for Star World and to an extent Star Plus channels. Star Gold channels show totally different content.

Yes, I thought the same movies started at the same time in HD and SD, but SD lagged due to more ads.
