DIY Two Way Tower using PA Drivers.

Speaker Driver: 15 inch, Model : 15CMV2
Compression Drive : Throat Dia 25mm, Model :CD10Nd

This was one the fastest project i have ever done with help of our FM @Aniket & the buyer itself Mr Tejpal [not our Forum Member]. He was here in Baroda to make these beautiful set of towers. These towers were completed in just 6 Days.

Day One Saturday 24/11/2018
We started from drawing in Morning, Completed the drawing by Afternoon, Started cutting at 4:00 PM and got the baffles by 7:00 PM

Day 2 Sunday. 25/11/2018
Checking Assembly. Mood off, The dimensions published in datasheet by Beyma and dimensions of actual driver were different. The PCD of mounting holes mentioned in their datasheet was dia 367mm, but in actual it was smaller, we had to fill all the holes drilled on CNC and made new holes by marking all the holes by placing the driver. We even had to reduce the cutout size of wave guide. The cutout size was 177 x 177 mm but we made it 177 x 140 mm, Hence we lost a complete day with correcting the same.

Day 3 Monday 26/11/2018
Completed almost 80% assembly of both the enclosures, Just the back baffle is left pending.

Day 4 Tuesday 27/11/2018
Assembly completed

Also Enjoyed Dinner Outdoor with our common friend Mr. Harjindersingh [he is the one who pulled me in this hobby], he organized the dinner specially for Aniket.

Good Bye Aniket. We enjoyed a lot during the built. Most important the buyer was happy for the performances of these Speakers. Thanks Aniket for comming to my place it was really a nice experience working with you.

Good to see a build with good Pro drivers.

If the intended usage of the speaker is for home audio then using a 15" wide 90 degrees conical waveguide will give a much better directivity match to the 15" woofer. Crossover at about 700Hz-800hz where the woofer just starts to beam and the waveguide just starts to pick directivity. The compression driver crossing this low is not an issue in home listening. There are many waveguides available in 90x50 degrees for 15" woofer match with 1" throat for CD.

Due to this directvitiy the system will give same on axis sound as well as off axis sound, less dependence on room treatment.

Exactly... Its really very difficult to match the degree angle of side panels, The degree is matched by Hand Circular saw. Really difficult job without proper tools and experience.

These angle cuts are the only reason I m hesitating to attempt any angled shapes. After first one or two builds, we get used to it I guess...
