Still images will be resolved at full 1080 lines but not moving images. Moving images will be slightly lesser at around 900-1000 lines
The Pansonic V10, few pioneer plasmas and the B8500 backlit LED from Samsung can do 1080 lines of motion resolution
For example Sony W series has only 300 lines of moving picture resolution for 1080p in normal mode.
It is no wonder none of the LCD TV manufacturers display these figures.
When you look at the panasonic plasma lineups, You could see that the S10 model has 900 lines of moving picture resolution and G10 has 1080 lines of moving picture resolution. Panasonic is the only mass manufacturer who display these figures.
The Panny S10 with 900 lines of moving picture resolution is priced at aroung 53k for the 42" model. But it looks inferior to G10 for this one aspect.. But if you compare it with the LCDs, It is a great improvement.
LCD TVs typically have 300 - 700 lines of moving picture resolution.
