From the time Audio Quest introduced the ultra compact Dragonfly DAC, it has caught the imagination of music lovers world wide.

Meredian has come up with apparently a better product, the Explorer DAC.

Well, it's a Meridian product so it should be good.....at 299 USD, I think it is a steal....I look forward to reviews from users and a comparison with the Audioquest Dragonfly, Halide DAC (which is more expensive) should let us know how good it is and if it is worth it...

There was always the Halide DACs which were built into the cable.

The current STEREOPHILE has a review and compares it to the Dragonfly.

The Meridian is rated better and warmer sounding.

However in DAC, I have generally found " If You Pay Peanuts, You Will Get Monkeys"

As the old adage goes, "proof of the pudding is in the eating" Had I had a fabulous sounding DAC already, I would've bought it.
