Epson 6100 Owners experience

Guys, It has been about 4 months since I am using Epson 6100 projector and we have had a great movie watching experience. Lot's of good movies watched and enjoyed and hoping for more.

However, I am hearing from my friend that he visited DNI Home theatre store over the weekend and he got told by the sales guy that Epson is giving lamp problems and recommending Benq or Optoma over that. He has even showed customers giving back Epson projector and they are replacing it with Sony or something. Is this true ?

I highly doubt that Epson is having widespread problems. I just feel that DNI is trying to sell Benq more. May be their margins are squeezed with Epson. Has any one had any problems with their Epson or have you heard of this ?

I still see Profx and HTStore selling Epson. So this may not be an issue at all, but just wanted to confirm.

Hey, I am using Epson TW480 (720p pj) since last one year and it's run more than 980 Hrs. and I have not face any kind of problem regarding lamp or other things whatsoever. Quality-wise Epson is the best. Recently I have changed my old 84" Chinees screen by Elite 100 inch 16:9 manual Screen (Elite M100XWH2) costing Rs. 10.5K from Kolkata. It's WOW movie experience now. So don't worry Epson is the best. Enjoy your FullHD experience.

I have never heard of any lamp issues with the Epson 6100. I'm using it for more than 1.5 years now and there is absolutely no issue.

Hi, I have been using Epson TW 8200 projector for the past nearly three months and so far no problems. The lamp is used for about 120 hours. I think Epson is too good.

hello all .. i am using epson 6100 for the past 7 months no issues till now but what about after 4000 hours....which is the lamp life mentioned by the company? will changing of lamp give the same quality like original?

Thanks for your response guys ! Really appreciate sharing all of it. I checked with Profx - Ketan in Phoenix mall as well. He concurred on the same. Just be vary of DNI trying to push you other branded projectors by lying about Epson.

I'm using TW-6100 from past 6months, no issues yet, if somebody is still doing research on reading reviews buying guide etc... i would say just buy this n you gonna come here n say the same as others shared their experience. It is VFM....

so 6100 better than 5200? Difference of twenty eight thousand rupees, hence asking.
Also anyone having idea of current pricing of the 2?
