I am new to the forum and this is my first thread. I tried to find feedback on TW6600 but couldn't. Anyone using one of the projector please share some feedback on it. And also which one should I go for it.

TIA.
Cheers

Purchased Eh-TW6600 yesterday.
Overall happy with the image quality. The brightness levels are good. The blacks could have been deeper but are not too bad.
Right now projecting on an off-white wall and the image quality is almost as good as on a screen. Will be looking at a screen later.
Ambient light performance is very good. Was able to view a movie with a light source open.
The epson are a light canon though and when the movie is playing the room has a lot of light. Does not bother me but if it might bother some. Black walls and ceilings would help with those.

For me horizontal lens shift was important and hence went with Epson over Benq. The lens shift works very well and I cannot see any perceivable difference to image quality with horizontal shift enabled, even on the extreme ends.

I think the right comparison will be with Epson 2030 or 2040.

The bigger question is DLP vs LCD. Projectorcentral is the best site for doing detailed comparisons.

A big factor for cost is replacement lamp and the cost of 3D glasses, both are quite cheap with Epson.

I personally would choose the Epson 2040, but your choice would depend upon the kind of room.

@Neeraj - Thats great..am also inclined towards the lens shift..my initial concern was rainbow effect on dlp but 1070+ has less of it due to 6x colour wheel...If you are into 3D then would love to hear the feedback on the same.. As I am more of looking for weekend movies/3d/sports watching....One more question from where did you buy and the cost..thanks and cheers

You are right in some way but here in Delhi am not able to find where I can get demo for such projectors to identify the technology to go for since this is my first. I had chosen too on the basis of the review across forums and experts in that budget... I am not sure when the Epson 2040 going to come to India..Well I can hold off for some time though last two weeks am sucked into this projector thing on reading/hearing the experiences...I do hold 55" panasonic plasma which is gorgeous but still big is always good

Why don't you visit some fm like sam9 to see the Epson 2030 in action. For projectors, it just doesn't make sense to buy locally as the premium charged is ridiculous.

I havn't tried the 3d playback until now. Will let you know once I try it.
1 thing to remember with lens shift is that the max horizontal shift specified is when the vertical shift is disabled. You cannot have both max vertical and horizontal shift simultaneously.

I agree but for epson the difference was not big when I checked with one of the local dealer on phone (96+12.5% vat). .. Anyway just holding on as benq is launching 3 more models to go on sale most probably next month in US/Europe and hopefully the epson 2040 will be available by end of year here. Around that time will decide to get it from US or India...Thanks .. will surely get in touch with him if needed

The projector is in eco mode by default. Even in the ECO mode it emits a lot of light which is good if you have lot of ambient light in your room. But it can be off putting for some.

everyone who is buying any projector check for dead or stuck pixels i just bought tw6600 and after watching 2 movies i noticed 5 dead pixels .. and now i m replacing it with new one
