Just got my 6100....but how to play native 3D (not 2D->3D) content? I bought the IMAX Under the Sea disc, got a Belkin High Speed 10.2Gbps HDMI cable, popped into my PS3 and made it detect the 3D display under Display Settings and started the playback. NO 3D effect at all, its outputting only 2D video.

But if i go 2d->3D conversion in the PJ, i get very good 3D effect with the same disc.Is there something am missing?

Imrahn, first congrats on the long awaited purchase, I found a similar issue with my cousin's 50' Samsung plasma tv, where he played TINTIN 3d and could not detect in 3d mode. he had to choose 2d to 3d conversion to play it.

Im sure there there must be some logic behind this. Don't worry we will figure it out.

IMHO, please post projector pics and 2D/3D experience.

Hi,

Got deliver my 6100 today. Tried a rip of avengers 3d through ps3. You need to start the movie playback - in my version 2 images appeared side by side. Neither ps3 nor the pj did anything automatically. Then I went to the pj 3d menu and then selected side by side. The default option was auto. After that it worked pretty well.
You can try it through a rip and then decide on b rays. Btw the under the sea rip does not work on ps3. I tried the avengers rip...

Imrahn,

Another thing that you need to do, is to start the Epson Pj first and then power on the PS3. This forces the PS3 to detect the Pj. It will then ask you for screen size etc.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
