ESPN HD: A big let down

Yesterday was eagerly waiting for MANU - Newcastle and ElClasico but non of them were broadcasted in ESPN HD.

If those are not to be viewed in HD whats the point of having HD Channel. What others feel about it ? Can we raise our voice to any on ESS's online account(FB /Twitter) ? Its completely insane form channel broadcaster's part.

Absolutely agree, during the same time they were broadcasting the La Liga on ESPN HD. But I think they telecasted the Liverpool vs Stoke city match in ESPN HD later in the night. Very bad about the priority in showing the telecast as I believe every EPL match is recorded/live in HD format.

That is bad news for someone who is thinking of getting a HD box, like me!!
I assumed the same programs would be telecast on the SD and HD versions.

Is this specific to the provider, will it be different on a Tata Sky box rather than an Airtel box?
What HD box are you guys using?

I think it is the same case with every provider. I do not think the service provider has any say in the telecast of the particular feed. The ESPN guys are to be blamed, I have the Videocon and I think other providers also get the same feed from ESPN HD.

Content is same across DTH platform. I am using TataSky HD. If ElClasico or EPL matches are not premium enough then what are ? Also it was aired on Star Sports SD which is the most crappiest SD sports channel in terms of picture quality.

I believe being commercial free channel ESPN HD have limitation to show premium content. Morning they showed Japanese Grand Prix which probably fulfill there quota. But cant they simulcast these big matches?

This year there is less of EPL on ESPNHD than last year.

Yes..Now they are using ESPN HD as a 4th channel to show less important matched. Most of the important matches they are showing in ESPN HD. Last week i remember they have broadcasted some local cricket match where hardly some 10 people and a dog (yes a dog) was watching the match in the stadium. Its really waste of money channel now.

Yet again they advertise to show 3 or 4 EPL Matches on ESPN HD (its clearly shows indian time) But zero epl action this weekend. they are showing some lesser la liga,serie a matches instead.

Can't understand this stupid move. they will only lose viewers for espn hd then gain it. nobody going to watch lesser la iga matches just because ITS ON HD CHANNEL. EPL is far more popular we will still watch it on crappy standard channel and they don't even show Barcelona,Real matches on HD which is also so annoying. espn hd being completely useless now showing sports event no one watches.

i just don't understand why did it come to this after showing everything on hd last season. why are we indian viewers treated like shit? why are we paying huge money on hd channels? don't we deserve to see major sports on event on hd?

Basically ESPN / Star are too cheap to buy the HD live feeds for important events : They now (apart from the Indian GP ) do not live telecast the F1 races in HD.
