Eversolo DMP A10

Sorry, I am not familiar with the Upgrade aspects of Android....

ajuvignesh & mbhangui... Can you please explain ...

Wont the Eversolo devices continue to operate indefinitely, in their last installed / updated version of android, even if support for older android devices is stopped ?

Thanks
If Qobuz, Tidal or Spotify or whatever else changes protocol after updates stop, the user won't be able to use the said service. Only guaranteed service to work would be Roon as they do have changed their streaming protocol

The eversolo will continue to work beyond the last official update. But once a updates for device expires, software deverlops too stop supporting the device. Example would be the Apple Music app. New versions of Apple Music app will not be available on playstore for the device. After few years it may so happen that Apple releases a new api and the old versoin of apple music app will stop working. On my ipad2, chrome no longer works, gmail app no longer works. Similarly on my Google Nexus tab there are few apps that no longer work.

Does anyone know if you can store offline music from Spotify/Apple music on the internal SSDs of DMP A10?
Most of the music streaming companies allow you to 'download' songs and store them on your computer. The only issue is that the format of the file is something only their application will understand. It is not a simple MP3, FLAC or something similar. So, you also need to download their application to play the songs.

I also have a feeling, not sure though, that what they do is to just create a link to the song on the server. I have 'downloaded' a few songs Amazon music. I still have to play them without the Internet and see if they work.

Cheers

The issue in these eversolo devices is the android operating system. If the OS becomes outdated and the company stops updating, eventually, the app support will also cease and rendering the device useless.
As a Zidoo Z9x user (Eversolo is from the Zidoo stable) this is definitely something to worry about. The Zidoo players get updates when they are new. But once the next Gen player comes out, updates tend to be spotty, and generally limited to Beta updates, that break as many things as they fix (going by the forums). I update very cautiously.

As services (and APIs/protocols) change, not getting updates could be a bad thing. In the case of my Zidoo, Z9x, the automatic metadata updates (poster wall) ended last year when the provider of the metadata changed things. The same thing happened to the subtitle downloads when opensubtitles changed things around. I waited a while and switched to a paid version of Tiny Media Manager for my metadata. I think the current beta update (that came in after a long wait) fixed some of this, and introduces other issues.

Zidoo does generally have good support for current devices. After they become less current, only the new children get all the attention. The general consensus is that they are now focusing on the Eversolo devices (definitely far huger margins), and that's why this is happening. Perhaps Eversolo users will not suffer like Zidoo users. *shrug*

This is revealing! I never thought about this angle. What about devices like WIIM?
If you were talking about firmware updates, from personal experience, I think that Wiim will have their buyer's backs for a long time to come.

I got a Wiim Pro for use as a Kitchen radio (with Roon) around the time it was commercially available in the US. They've been continously improving it with regular firmware updates and feature updates since then. After I bought the WIIM Pro, they'd released the Pro Plus and the Ultra (and also the Amp). Regardless, they still support the Pro, and keep pushing the new features and bugfixes via regular firmware updates.

I've found them to be very responsive to user suggestions and comments on their forum, both in terms of software (existing devices) and hardware (future devices) features. It definitely seems like they have the right attitude with continuous improvement of both old and new devices. All this is regardless of the fact that the Wiims are relatively inexpensive devices with relatively low margins.
