Guys,
I see from the forum that lot of us ( AV Fans ) put a lot of effort , money , time in getting the best possible outcome ( AV ).

Just was wondering , how much of the effort really gets noticed ( or cared for !! ) by the family ( spouse , kids ) ..

By the way , i have 7.1 Onkyo HT speaker and Onkyo(606 ) AV reciever.

My experience seems to be i am forcing things and couple of reasons they give

- They find it too noisy :)
- Money can be better utlised :)
- The latest movies ( obviously pirated / downloaded ) make no difference with /without setup ..And they dont want to watch the relatively old movied ( DVDs ) just for quality sake..They want the latest !! :)

Ditto...couldn't agree more on last 2 points.

And since I've been browsing thru HFV a lot these days, this is another that goes against me ("you wasting a lot of time on reading about stupid gadgets")

BTW my most used stuff is 42 Inch LCD and WDTV -- By my daughter!!!:ohyeah:Loaded all her movies on it and generally she is watching it always .

I actually suggest new TV ( 22 LCD) is for her , she said it is new so it is for u! I was not able to cheat a 3 yr old!!:cool::rolleyes:

Yes most of the time its true. When ever i turn the volume UP , my family members ask me to reduce the volume. With the low volume , hifi home theater setup is not required. Ordinary syetem itself enough.

I turn the voulme UP to my level only when i am alone. Some tweak is required here. If we increase the level of subwoofer little bit then highs will come down a little bit. I always do this when watching the movies with family.

It depends. Even one of us enjoys the sound then it's worth.

Yes. Sound is horrible for pirated/downloaded movies.
Its better we set the AMP mode to mono for pirated/downloaded movies - improves a little better.
I always wait for movies atleast with stereo. Then only it sounds good.
