FINALLY!! Getting a Marantz SR7005

Hello all,

Patience has paid and I have now ordered Finally for a Marantz SR7005. I think its the best I could get for my system. Thank God I waited and did not take the Denon or Onkyo plunge.

Cheers

Can you pls share your reasons for condemning onkyo/ denon? Did you do an audition or just going by online reviews etc?
Subject says 5005, but body says 7005. I am assuming it is a 7005. How much is it costing you?

Hi,

Firstly sorry, it was a typo. I am getting the flagship SR7005 for about 60K . Still negotiating. I auditioned alomst 30 receivers over a span of about 2 months and came to this conclusion. Since I already own a Marantz NR1501 and love the sound, going to anything else (yamaha, denon, onkyo) seems like a downgrade in sound. Heard them all from the Yamaha 667 to the Denon 3311 to the Onkyo 808 with the same speakers (Paradigm Monitor 9s) Marantz was always more pleasing less fatiguing and musical. So it was a no-brainer for a Marantz-only upgrade.

Hi Sunny,

How do you manage these prices?

First the monitor 9's at 40k and now the marantz sr7005 at 60k.

The marantz is retailing at around 1500 usd in the US?

Yeah you are right. Even i own an used Marantz receiver SR 5200 which i bought from one of the forum members. Particularly when i listen to Audio CD's on Source Direct mode (2.0), it is really brilliant. I have heard Audio CD's on Onkyo/ Yamaha/ Denon on Stereo mode/ Straight mode / Pure Audio, but i would say Marantz receiver is far better than others in this department. It is beautiful.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
