Hey guys! First of all must say I'm so happy to find this forum! Didn't know there was such a great community of audiophiles in India!
Okay so I'm looking to make my first investment in hi-fi audio. So far I've demoed B&W and Klipsch. Found the Klipsch a bit bright and also the sound was tearing a bit at higher volumes...! B&W was just beautiful - the new 603 towers blew me away. But then they're really expensive even at the entry level!
I had a bunch of questions, please feel free to answer any of them:
1 - Are there other companies at the same quality level as B&W that I should check out? Polk, maybe?
2 - What do you guys think about Klipsch? Did I just have a bad demo, or are the speakers not really that good?
3 - The first quote I got from the B&W vendors had a 2 Lac amplifier! Do I need such an expensive amplifier or is the guy overselling me?
4 - So after doing the demos I've realised I'm going to have to stretch my budget quite a bit... Because even a 2 tower + amp setup will go to 3.5L... I actually want to do a second home theatre (Atmos) setup in my living room. Seems like B&W will cost 6-7L... Is there a system that could be almost as good that would come in about 2L or should I not even bother? Please do suggest brands to explore. I know its possible to get a Klipsch setup in that budget but my experience was a bit scarring.
