What other UK based speakers are you referring to?. AFAIK the Wharfdale 9.5, 9.6 should fall within your budget.

Wharfedale definitely does but I was referring to Morduant-Short, B&W and Monitor Audio.

Anyways, if you do get a chance to audition, do leave your opinion/review.

I have listened to Polk TSI-300 floorstanders with Denon 1611 (MRP 21k).
Personally, I felt that they sounded a bit harsh to my liking.
Found Wharfedale 10.1/ 10.2 bookshelves to be better, even in low end response. These actually live-up to their on-paper specs of 42Hz low-end response.
But after all, it is all very subjective and depends on individual tastes.

Yes... the speakers are quite loud..

But compared to few others in that price range... i found them better...

Yes Wharfies are great... but 10.1 / 10.2 are bookshelves....

Has anyone tried/heard wharfedale diamond 10.3??? They are floorstanders with 5.25" woofers similar to diamond 10.1.

You meant TSI 300 right .... Go for it if you like them

Most people over here would prefer a Wharf 9.2 to Polk TSI300, especially for music.

If you want to compare FS, go for Wharf 9.4/9.3
