Many old songs in public domain in many languages are available on www.archive.org

Because of licensing issues, you may not have free downloads available, but there are quite a few sites which allow you to stream music if you have a good bandwidth. Although the overall quality will not be even close to an audio CD, as they would stream at 320 bps (best case scenario).

Can anybody confirm what is the bitrate of the file available here in Welcome to Times Music Online ?

Looking at the file sizes and songs length it seems like around 192 kbps.
