Why have we apparently resigned ourselves to the fact that only "firangi" stuff is good enough to be considered. I mean, at least give these guys a chance, they make some great stuff, all of them. BTW, Peerless made these speakers for a very popular British Marque called JPW. Also, there are firms from abroad (no names here) that get their drivers made for peanuts in India, yes, India and then get them assembled in China/Taiwan and sell it at a massive premium on our soil and whats worst is that a lot of it is JUNK, compared to what our people offer at home.

You may not buy any of this necessarily, but at least shortlist Indian stuff and give it an audition. I know Delhi/NCR is rather unfortunate but FMs esp from Mumbai and thereabouts need to give a thought to our stuff.

Its good, guys, I am not asking you to buy anything you dont like but please dont reject Indian Marques at the outset. The best part is that you get great Indian stuff in all price segments.

We owe it to ourselves more than we owe to the makers and sellers.

Cheers

I wud definitely listen to these speakers.. and i did not say that i only need "firangi" maal.. i can go for any speaker within my budget.. its just that they should be sounding better than my current speakers..

Hehehe.. Sushant i'll but after this last purchase (if needed).. Infact i wud put on a break for atleast 3-4 years..
Yeah i know. I heard this when you were about to buy the new Amp and then before you bought the STX and later before you bought the Avianos.

This is a never ending cycle sadly and is addictive.

I am glad that I am clean now. No more temptations.

Mate, I was talking in general response to the various responses posted by FMs. Nothing about you, not in the least. Just a thought that crossed my mind. And yes, I daresay, I have made that mistake (still do, sometimes) and realized it and wanted to share it with FMs so that their money doesn't go waste by lining the pockets of "outsiders" out to dupe you nice and proper.

There are many examples that I have and can give, but thats not me . . .
The point is to drive the point home w/o pointing at ANYONE, least of all you.

OK, so what are your current speakers and amplification? Please do take some time out to answer these

and post answers here.

The ques are:-

*music, movies or both?
*%age of each if both?
*what kind of music? which format ie cd, mp3, flac, cassettes or records?
*what kind of movies ie dvd, hard disk or blu ray?
*average daily usage in hours?
*brand conscious or hearing conscious?
*ROOM SIZE?
*Do you have a sub? If no, don't you ever want one?

But personally speaking, I would never go in for a budget bass reflex tower design (ported design). Problems at all budgets, actually. I would rather go in for a GREAT bookshelf at that price point. If it has to be a tower, it ought to be a TL (transmission line)/ horn-loaded/dipole tower whether 1 way, 2 way or whatever way.

SAY, at this budget why don't you join this group buy n build here

This is a world class, very well acclaimed pair of speakers AND what I call quality and VFM, doubtlessly so.

I suggest you get in touch with FM captrajesh at the earliest for further details.

4. 720p n 1080p ripped downloaded movies.. play thru usb..
5. 4-5 hours..
6. Hearing consious..
7. m moving to pune next week.. room size is i guess around 12 * 10 ft.. need to confirm though..
8. I have sub but i dont want to use it with stereo setup.. i'll use it for movies only..

My source for music is PC, using Xonar STX sound card..
Using Yamaha V367 for movies (play thru sony 370 using usb) and CA Azur 650A for stereo..
