IMO... there's no point in going for 7.1 setup. These days, most surround recordings are done in 5.1 channel. So eventually, in a 7.1 setup, this 5.1 channel gets distributed.
Instead of more speakers, you can consider lesser speakers with better quality.
Do not go for HTIB. Buy AVR+speakers separately.
As your budget is 1lac you can split it up 45%, 55% on speakers and AVR respectively.
For AVR you can consider Yamaha RX-V671/Denon AVR-1912. (each will cost around 45K).

For speakers:-
If you are going ahead with Yamaha, then go for
- Wharfedale DIAMOND 10.1 - for fronts - 18k (approx)/pair
- Wharfedale DIAMOND 10 - for rear - 11k (approx)/pair
- Wharfedale DIAMOND 10.CS - center - 16k (approx)
- Wharfedale DIAMOND 10.SX Subwoofer - 22k (approx)
------------------------------------------------------------
Total 67K

For Denon you can consider Polk Audio speakers.
- Polk Audio RTi A1 - for fronts - 17k (approx)/pair
- Polk Audio RTi A1 - for rear - 17k (approx)/pair
- Polk Audio CSi A4 - center - 15k (approx)
- Polk Audio PSW 110 (15k approx)
------------------------------------------------------------
Total 64k

I just overshoot your budget by 10-12k. Sorry about that. You can get the rear speakers later and can go ahead with 3.1 setup initially. I think this will fit your budget.

Another good receiver worth considering is Marantz SR5006!!!
The wharf diamond series are very good but not the 10 series, the 9 series though older outperform the newer 10 series. Also have a look at MS Aviano 6 and Paradigm Monitor 7. Demo as many systems as you can with different receivers and then decide. Some receivers go very well with some speakers.

I find Wharfedale Diamond 10 series better than 9 series but requires very careful placement. Do hear both the series before making a choice.

Try Paradigm Monitor7 Series 2 Mini monitors, Center1, Surround1. Since you will use Subwoofer, go for bookshelves to get full range.

I bought them recently for 60k. With Denon they pair up well. I dont like Marantz or Onkyo receivers.

In my opinion Yamaha has got better sound, not sure how they sound with Paradigm

Usually the old paradigm series is fatiguing for few. The recent Monitor7 series seem to have got smoothness in treble.

Any day, Acoustic energy(Old Neo1 series) or Paradigm you get lot of wood for the money:yahoo:.

Cheers
Venkat
