Namaste ,
Around 5.30 pm wharfdale diamond 9.2 unloaded from auto. struggled to set up with denon 1908 for about 45 min to 1 hr as it was first experience to set avr & speakers . Auto set up reduced my burden AND stored all setting.
played Don Williams GYPSY WOMAN and experienced wonderful feelings. Then played nonstop roja hits .Believe me tu hi re tu hi re was such a pleasure can't describe it . Only thing it emits very plain sound for hindi old songs.I was confused between 9.5 and 9.2 diamond. Finally I am convinced with 9.2 diamond.:yahoo:(saved RS 11500)

Hi Sachin,
Welcome to 9.2 owners club !!!

You are happy with music on Denon 1908 AVR?... Won't be for long... just hear 9.2 with a stereo amp :D.

Start saving for next "baby" step... The Norge-1000

enjoy!!!

Regds,

BTW: Old hindi songs will sound flat on even the best systems. Cause the best recording equipment of that time can't come half close to the electronics of present.

Congrats, Sachin! Enjoy your new 9.2s. The best is yet to come as you will realize once the speakars 'break-in'!

Just curious, what tilted your decision in favour of 9.2s over the 9.5s?

Shriram

Hi Sachin - Congrats!

Just two days old and am sure you must be relishing them by the minute!

I bought my 9.2s while I had a stop over for ~12hrs @ Thailand. I had casually gone to look around Bangkok and happened to visit this electronics chain store (Power buy) and happened to casually audition the Wharfedale and that's when the casually bit stopped. I was floored. My heart was kicking me to get the 9.5s but rationality kicked in suggesting there was no way I could get them checked into the airline. So got the 9.2s instead and I think it's one of the sanest decisions I've made in life.

I had initially hooked it to my Denon AVR-1609 (75pwc) and was really happy with the output and listened to everything from ARR to GN'R.

I then got myself a stereo receiver (Yamaha RX-797 - 100wpc: equally exciting purchase maybe worth another thread!) and un-hooked the 9.2s from the Denon and connected them to the Yamaha....I was silent for while when I listened to it. I couldn't believe what these 9.2s were capable of and what I was missing all along (for about 1 month) until I connected them to the 797.

The 9.2s are really very capable speakers and can't emphasise enough what the other members have pointed out that they do require a good stereo-amp to wake them!

I'm really enjoying every bit of them now. And by the way what colour did u choose? Mine's walnut.

JAI SHRIRAM,
HI, I have auditioned both 9.5 and 9.2.My budget was ltd. when i heard 9.5 ,it was so clear and was emitting low tones very well.even small nodes it was picking.voice was original.all this things r also there in 9.2 except singer's voice is bit compressed .except compression in sound and low tones i found 9.2 is really well as compared to 9.5 .also 9.2 r cheap by about rs 12000 . all these factors led me 2 select 9.2.

Sachin ,

if you audition 9.6 you would be talking the same about 9.5s as you said about 9.2s ...... :-) Everything comes @ a price..... But 9.2s are great set of speakers even after the 10 series got launched in market still you see the demand for 9.2 s ..... Good choice mate :-)

And coming to norge or any used amp talk to lokesh or our forum member hifipal4all (Ramesh) .

Enjoy the music.

Kittu

He he exactly for that same reason I rejected Lokesh's request to listen to the 9.6. These things are so tempting:ohyeah:

But I did not like the looks of 9.6 they looked pretty huge . You need to have a listening room almost the size of a marriage hall :p and the floorstanders can make you feel that rest of your electronics and furniture is pretty small.

9.5s in black looked :licklips:

Oh yeah, they were quite big and actually 9.5's were looking puny when placed next to them (9.6 and 10.7).

Exactly, that's what I got :licklips:

Me too joined the club of 9.5s ... . I returned the Jamo c405s as I found them too loud and boomy missing crisp trebles (just my ears) ..... Got the 9.5s from lokesh vector..... Finished listening to Don Williams (FLAC format) now doors is kicking in non-stop :yahoo:
