I am looking for suggestions for compact CPU cabinet, good display card for movies and some gamings. I have a Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 motherboard and AMD Athlon X2 processor in hand.

The main use will be has audio source playing foobar etc and audio out from inbuilt coaxial to DAC.
My targeted OS is Ubuntu Ultimate edition which as some games and audio/video players as well. Please suggest if there is any other OS better than this

If it is for digital playback of movies & music, an Android TV box can do that for abt 3 ~ 5K.. Most have optical output as standard, some models have co-axial outputs.. some boxes support USB-OTG function.. You can use that if you have an USB DAC..

It can decode most movie formats with Kodi player which is pre-installed on most boxes and some streaming thru with compatible apps..

You can look at those flat bed CPUs which can fit under your receiver or on a shelf. Can also check out on OLX for those corporate lease returned systems. Add a good Graphics card based on your budget, an SSD drive and as much ram as your board can support. That should get you started.
