Harman Kardon Ive heard has service issues. Pioneer Avr vsx-523-k is a very good avr. However i would recommend you to look at Denon Avr-X500 too. I think it will be better suit the ba soundware xs. If you can increase your budget. Go in for marantz. Will perform equally well for movies and music.

but i m very tight on my budget, so not in position to expand.with marantz its increasing by 15k.

not any of pioneer/denon/harmon service center are not in my city. in all cases it will require me to to go to nearest service center.

so please help me in performance and usability .it would be very helpful in deciding

According to me i dont like pioneer avrs and i recently brought a denon avr as i listened to both pioneer and denon side by side and liked the denon avr

Hi

Denon and Marantz are both manufactured and owned by D & M holdings Limited. Denon is relatively cheaper than the Marantz and the difference is the build quality and audiophile output. I was inclined to purchase the X500 but decided to go for the NR 1403 instead which provides stellar performance.

Pioneer VSX is an ok series...i did own a VSX 520 for a brief period of 18 months and got rid of it. The LX series is the better lot from Pioneer.

Harmon Kardon has power to deliver to the speakers and is strong but lacks musical tonal quality.

Perhaps you can explore and see the Yamaha RX 377 which i think would do better justice...provided you dont want to go in for a Marantz or Denon....

Please audition and then decide.
