70% movies & 30% music.

need ARC and HDMI on standby. (don't want to listen multichannel NEWS)
USB preferable.

Is HDMI passthrough on standby standard on yamaha 373? (mannual don't say anything - both marantz and denon listed this as feature)

SPEAKERS - only budget to buy used bookshelfs or use old F&D speakers
How about yamaha ns-p150? (Rs. 8,???? for L, R, and C)

If that is your requirement, go for Marantz
The said Yamaha models do not have HDMI passthrough feature in standby.

For speakers I suggest you use existing ones till you have enough budget to get some decent speakers. Check out hifimart there are some good options at different price points.

If you know the exact model # that you are looking for, try to get it from middle east/Europe (Dubai/Kuwait)... You will get it for approx 50% less than the indian prices there...

You will loose the warranty though... Try your luck

When I bought 373 recently, I took it for granted that it will have a HDMI pass-thru
Whenever I am listening to news, I put it on 2 channel and its not that irritating If you want to get the cheapest rate for 373, order it from pepperfry.com and you will get it for 23.8k with 1 year manufacturer's warranty
