i have a HD30..connected using RCA..want to change to a XLR- does it make that much of a difference?

in the following cases, you "may" see some benefits, gravity of which will depend on your system, choice of songs and for course your ears:

a) if the device is inherently balanced

b) if you use for longer runs

c) if the DAC is surrounded by many equipment and your wires arent neatly arranged
 
thank you. My understanding was that XLR cables are able to deal with noise better than RCA but I guess this would only apply like you said if there are wires around and perhaps some interference.
