Hi everyone,
Glad to finally join the HiFi Vision community! I’ve been reading through the threads for a while and figured it was time to officially say hello.
I have been falling deep into the rabbit hole of DIY audio lately. I really enjoy tinkering with gear and learning the science behind the sound. Recently, my main focus has been on building custom 3-way speakers, calculating cabinet volumes, and trying to get the most out of standard crossover boards.
I'm also a big fan of experimenting with amplification. I've been playing around with Class D amps, building chip amps (like the LM3886 and TDA7294), and integrating vacuum tubes into my digital chain to bring a bit of warmth to the setup. When I'm actually sitting down to listen and not soldering or troubleshooting, my playlists are mostly filled with classic rock and hip-hop hits.
I'm planning to put together a post showcasing my current 2.1 DIY speaker and Tube/Class D hybrid setup soon. I’m looking forward to sharing my progress, learning from the veterans here, and getting some advice on things like fine-tuning crossovers and tracking down the occasional ground loop hum!
Thanks for having me!
