I am using a low end creative 2.1 speakers with my desktop. I wish to replace it with high-end speakers. I am looking for a speaker system which has great sound quality(low, mid, high) with powerful subwoofer(I love thumping bass). I will use it mainly to listen to music. My budget is 15k. Please advise friends. Thank you.

Logithech z2300 is what I have in mind. However, I heard that the mids are not so good with z2300. Thanks friend to have referred Craftel speakers :), I have never heard of them though. Do they have 2.1 speaker systems? If so will it suit my budget?

Don't even think of regular computer speakers.

Get a Swans or Audioengine. Get bookshelves. Will beat any 2.1 for the price.

Amongst 2.1s the only ones you should think of as decent are:
Altec Lansing 2.1
Klipsch Promedia 2.1
Harman Kardon 2.1
Bose Companion 3/5(too pricey for what they offer, but still decent overall)

However, I recommend Swans or Audioengine over these.

AE2 10k
AE5 20k
Swans 10-25k depending on the model

At any given price, Swans may be slightly better than AE. However, only Swans MKIII beats AE5. The rest will loose to AE5.

Thanks for the reply. How about Onkyo hts3300. If they can give audiophile quality sound I can stretch my budget. I heard they are good entry level HTIBs. How about the sound quality? Are they good for music as well? Please advise

If you can shell out 20K go for the AE5. Great bookshelves. Anything less than 10K though and you are in the Logitech Z-2300 territory.

I personally did an audition between AE2 & Logitech Z-2300 & Z-2300 wins hands down. AE5 are a different beast though.

You might have to stretch a bit for these puppies but rest assured they would eat anything outhere in the same category

Genelec - 6010A & 5040A System

(Yes I know I have been pushing genelec, but they are AWESOME! who else makes a 2.1 with active monitors 12w for tweeter 12 for woofer per channel total power of 24watts/channel in them tiny bookshelves,
and remember going active effectively doubles the available power :) muahahahaha)
