Help! Nakamichi DR2 parts

I have a Nakamichi DR2 whose pinch rollers and belt need to be replaced. Have been looking around, but am unable to find original parts. Any pointers to the same and the indicative cost would be really appreciated.

You can try Bowers & Wilkins, UK. They are specialists in Nakamichi Cassette Deck repair and spare parts. Its not a bad idea to write to them. They've always responded quickly to queries. They support the more modern NAKs but do not support the older ones like the Nak1000, Nak700, Nak500 and so on. DRs are supported.

NAKAMICHI SPARES

Belt kits can also be bought on ebay (USA) but are quite expensive. You should not have too much of a problem finding parts for the Nak DR series as these were the most modern of the Nak Decks every produced.

Please ensure that you use only Nak originals or spares ment for Nak decks. Substitutes usually do not function well on Naks.

Just in case you have doubts, yes, this is the very same Bowers & Wilkins that produces the B&W loudspeaker range. They actually started off as a shop repairing radios and diversified into the loudspeaker business. However, they still run their hi-fi equipment servicing business.

Since Nakamichi has stopped making cassettes decks you can look for B&W service , expensive but good service or else get hold of some local technicians who services high end audio......My Nakamichi Dragon needs a record head replacement but couldnt find any spare.......

Thanks a ton Reubensm and Deba. I did get in touch with B&W. Apparently they do not supply spares anymore. They suggested me to send the deck for servicing. But the shipping costs to UK and back may exceed what I paid for the deck in the first place is what I feel.

I do have a good technician here, only issue is the parts. Let me try eBay USA as suggested. Thanks again
