Help Required for My HiFi Dream..

Request your help and expertise for the following..

About Me.

I am a 35 yr Old who grew up listening to Ilayaraja, A R Rahman,Phil Collins and Bryan Adams. Prefers listening to soft lilting melodies in a mild to medium volume. And my long time dream is to set up a good hi-fi system with surround sound which turns me on.

Listening Area..

..will be my Hall which is furnished with a Sofa Set.. and a 32 inch Samsung LED TV. Hall Size is approx 350 Sq Feet..

Budget..

Looking for a system which is below Rs.30 K. Also I am in a bit of dilemma whether to go in for a Home Theatre or Pure Music Systems..

Kindly advise..

i think you need to specify what your priority is- music or movie or if both then in what proportion?
30K is a tight budget but Trittya in the forum should be able to help you..his well articulated philosophy is 'more for less'...
why don't you search the forum?...perhaps used Nad (or New Norge) amps, wharfedale speakers...there are plenty to chose from...

The ques are:-

*music, movies or both?
*%age of each if both?
*what kind of music? which format ie cd, mp3, flac, cassettes or records?
*what kind of movies ie dvd, hard disk or blu ray?
*average daily usage in hours?
*brand conscious or hearing conscious?
*where do u live ie metro or small town?


I am no specialist, just a guy who loves his music, understands it and doesn't have too much money to spend on it, LOL.

Nevertheless, I shall endeavour to help the best I can, all within the bounds of my "highly-technically-challenged-but-very-high-VFM/common sense" status, LOL
