Welcome to HFV.
for vintage audio repairs , apart from regular tools (DMM, soldering tools, sereies bulb , variac) you would need a bascic oscilloscope. Service manuals would be hard to find , try elektrotanya

Hello there Suizen,

Based out of Bangalore, I too joined this forum a couple of days ago.
Basically, have been looking forward to making time to listen to music for many many years.. Looks like I can finally do that now.. So joined this forum to look for help advice pointers to the the latest and greatest.

My set up consist of Harbeths, A CJ power, Acoustic portrait pre, a audio technica LP player. My CD player of many years gave up on me recently. Looking to get a replacement for now.

Have not got sold on convenience of he streaming platforms fully. Still like to put in the little bit of effort required to put on the music I want to listen to at the moment.

However, the greatest attraction I suppose is the collection of music available on the streaming platforms. Just decided to go for Wiim Pro plus streamer offered by a fellow member here.

Looking forward to getting back to listening!

Cheers

Great to hear from u Ninjablr. That's some good hi-end stuff you have. Wiim Pro plus is a good choice for mid-level streamer (though I have a Wiim amp pro, i prefer old style playing from digital audiofiles on my storage :-p). I hope you get to setup your system sooner and start enjoying the pleasure once again. Cheers.

That’s a great setup! I’m curious though what made you pick the WiiM Pro over the Ultra? From what I read the Ultra is streets ahead in terms of performance and only about 25k more

Thanks much.. Yes my set up is "listenable" but I had really stopped making time for music for some time now. Well. I was re introduced to the pleasure of listening to music per se during a visit to a dear friend of mine in Chennai. He is now been elevated to the position of my guru, mentor and advisor for all things tech not just music!.. So that was the key important factor! other than that. the price at which it was being offered was affordable to me!!..
