How much do customs charge when importing a receiver?

I'm being given price quotes of 1 lakh for the Denon x3300. It would cost me around 40k + 10k shipping if I import it from the U.S.

How much would customs be? 30%?

Its around 35 to 38% of the total value of invoice including shipping.Seriously it may cost in higher side.Not good the best way to carry with somebody to save duty and shipping cost.

Try to get one from local store that will be good.

Its not worth it, it'll be much more, the customs will take Indian prices into account and levy the charges. Plus its 110V version.

Try ordering from Amazon Germany or UK instead, it'll be 220v version & at least 20 - 30% cheaper than Indian price. Amazon will take care of the maximum custom charges & they will refund you, if the customs collected is higher than the customs actually charged. If its other way round, you need not pay anything over the initial amount charged.
