a very basic question

How to connect 5.1 analog output to Denon 1610
(backpanel of denon 1610 link is given here)

5.1 analog output is from a dvd player and I don't want to use digital connection. I want to use dvd player's dac.

If I understand rightly, in Denon 1610, I have no way of connecting 5.1 output from DVD to Denon
only stereo mode is possible.(R,L)

You can connect at least 4.1, it seems. 2 each for front and surround, and one for centre.

You already knew the answer and asking question? Denon 1610 has no 5.1 input. That simply means you can't connect 5.1 output of your DVDP to denon. The only way is to use the SPDIF output of your DVDP. For music listening, you can connect the front LR output of DVP to any of the LR input of the receiver.

sorry, I didn't get you .1 is for LFE (sub) - if so which channel is missing? can you elaborate with the connection ?

This is not possible to get 5.1/4.1 at a time.
