Hello guys I'm happily bit streaming 5.1 channel audio out of my AC3, DTS, DTS HD-MA files to my ONKYO 807 AVR through HDMI out of my PC's graphic card and I can do the same from optical out of my PC's sound card.

But I'm not getting digital audio (Bit stream) out of games as they are only giving 5.1 channel analog audio and my AVR doesn't feature 5.1 channel analog in as it can get more then two channel audio only in digital form like using optical in, coaxial in and HDMI in. All analog in are two channels (Stereo) on my AVR.

So how can I enjoy 5.1 channel audio out of my games.

If you are using Windows 7, go to Playback devices and select HDMI output, press configure and select 5.1 output.
In your game, select 5.1 output mode.
In your AVR, select the Direct mode in which it will just amplify the sound and will not do any processing.

Hope it will solve your problem. :)
