How useful really is a region C blu ray player??

Thanks for the explanation. I got two options.

Unlock Panny 220 to make it region free and sell my Samsung DVD recorder.
Keep Panny 220 as is and keep Samsung DVD recorder for DVDs.

I am leaning towards the later.
I heard 30 Euros is what it costs to unlock the panny, right.

Correct. I would go with the first option because the Panasonic will do a better job of upscaling.

Great, In that case, I will try to put the sammy on sale next month once I get comfortable with 220.

Don't know why I got the DVD recorder, I have used it only twice.

A region C blu-ray player is a waste. A region free player is always best. But if you cannot get one, then a Region A player is a close second.
