HTIB / AVR suggestion for Music / Movies / Games

Haha...no issues rockxdude...

The avr evolution is a very fast one at the moment. I can start out and suggest what you should be looking at for future proofing your purchase, but Iam afraid I might miss out on something. So better start a new thread, titled 'what to look for in a new avr' . Everyone will chip in with valuable advise, so you won't miss anything.

But off the back of my head, I can say the below are a must :

1. Hdcp 2.2
2. HDMI 2.0
3. Will help if it has chrome cast built in
4. Bluetooth
5. WiFi
6. 4k upscaling or atleast 4k pass through
7. IAM not sure if HDR and Dolby vision support is required in a AVR or not. So please google and see
8. ARC
9. Good room calibration system- audessey for marantz & denon. mccac for pioneer and Ypao for Yamaha
10. Dolby Atmos

Hey newlash09

My brother has delayed the trip and finally I can check some deal on black friday.
But I am really confused and cannot make a final decision.

After a lot of research I found out that Marantz is the solid build
In terms of reliability : Marantz> Yamaha > onkyo > Denon

But Marantz is costly :(

Is it okay to get refub product?

If not then I can select a lower version of Marantz.
As my room size is small, I do not think 9.1 AV will be good. In fact 5.1 or 7.1 will be sufficient? What you say?
Can you please check SR5011 / NR1608

Also now he is coming with his family so we will have more bags and he can bring speakers as well.
Can you suggest speakers only, and I will get sub from India.
