I was wondering what the general consensus would be on ....

Well, a bit difficult to describe this so I will just say How would it be - IF enclosure spikes would ALSO be used up side down / opposite site which would mean so much as that the spikes are mounted towards the enclosure so not mounted in the enclosure itself as the Images show. Maybe somebody has a productive view / commend to make on this type of using spikes as well I say as well as because this is an item, a part of my Tang Bang 8 inch woofer project which I introduced already and I will have it in a way that it could be used if need be as the enclosure has everything set out if I wanted to use it with a set of spikes.

I believe there are times & situations were this way could be suited / helpful?

Well, the paint is dry so a first look at this first set up! By the way I like to mention that this bottom plate can be used as is in 3 to four different ways, and I will try all of them if possible over time to figure out the best one suited.
