ICE for cruze

Hey Guys,

I recently got Cruze and am looking to upgrade the ICE. I want a touch screen and also want to retain the steering controls.

Any good suggestions.

i would suggest any of the above depending on your install
for fibre glass go to anwar only

You unfortunately cannot change ur head-unit unless you go for caska which last i checked was 65k+.
Switching to components is the best you can do.

I would also not suggest an HU change, as it requires a lot of money, and investing in good components and using monoblocks/ good quality amplifier is a lot better solution.

Investing in good quality amps. and components(Rainbow/Hertz/Focal) is a much better alternative to HU's.

You need to get a Connects 2 kit if you want to go the aftermarket HU route.

Connects 2 Car Audio manufacturer and distributor, Car Stereo, Car Radio DAB Stereos, Car interface adapters and accessories

Else, get a good 4 channel amplifier which accepts speaker level inputs. The Mosconi One 120.4 is a good bet.

You could also explore a stand alone HU route. This way you retain the functionality of the stock HU and additionally get the SQ from the aftermarket HU.

i have a witson for my Honda city, so i contacted them and they have it for Cruze also. Will go with that, it retains all the stock features of stock HU.

Last time i had it imported from HK, now some one is importing them in india itself, checkwd with him he is quoting 28k. Comes with 3g/wi fi capabilities.

+1 with Ali aka Magma on his suggestions.

Both Satya and Thouqueer are good friends of mine as well. I have done a lot of mods on my Skoda from both of them.

One correction from Magma's post - Car Fancy and Auto Fusion are now owned by Thouqueer only. The last time I spoke with him, he mentioned that Anwar moved on.

Satya's knowledge in ICEs is excellent and his suggestions are based on your listening taste.

That would be Kumar from Audio Planet? BTW, his brother Palani, is a big man in the Hifi Equipment Business .

My Friend - My personal opinion, when it comes to ICEs, price checks and negotiations over phone are not very effective. One on One really helps.

Also, please keep in mind that the end result in fitting and quality is very important. Evaluate and then get with it!

Yes Kumar, very nice chap, i had gone to meet him and was very pleased by his customer service.

I have met Pallani too, when i was hunting for HI Fi equipment. It was end up a toss between Polk and Mordaunt short, so went with Polk.

You are right about meeting in person, i met Thouqeer also. Will meet satya too.
