Importing subwoofer to india

How will be the calculations if we plan to bring this by some one who is travelling as part of the allowed luggage?
Do we have any default allowed value they can considered to exclude?

Forget the cost.
You will have to deal with:
  • No Warranty
  • 110 volt
Even if you were to get past the voltage issue, the lack of warranty is enough for me to forget about it, knowing that sub plate amps can pop without any tell tale signs. An SVS isn't immune to it either.

Now the manufacturer can say "we will give you warranty" provided you can ship the product at your cost. To me, thats as good as no Warranty.

i guess subwoofers now have switchable voltage. I dont care about warranty

Import duty is approximately 43.96% of item cost with an IEC code. This was last I imported, this may have changed.

If you are asking about costs, and if the subwoofer has a built in amp, then you should care about warranty assuming you want to pay as little as possible.

Can you tell how will custom clearace proces goes? Do they call us or what

This depends which carrier brings the item to India. Some carriers will clear the item for you, all you need to do with them is pay. Others will not and will require you to arrange for a clearing agent.
I called one agent first time he said i need BIS certificate lol it will cost me 3lakhs and i cut the phone

If that is what I think it is, then I don't think you need it for hiring a clearing agent. You may need it for an amp, possibly the amp in the sub. You may need this even if it is cleared by someone else. I will note I have not imported an amplifier or speaker/subwoofer with an amp myself. Hence I have never required a BIS certificate for importing audio equipment.

I can not answer that, you would need to ask the government authorities if it is required, and if so what is the reason. I do know amplifiers need certification because some time ago when I asked a distributor for one he told me he can't offer that amplifier as there is no certification. Whether this applies for a single unit for personal use, I do not know.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
