Hi all,
I am thinking of getting Yamaha RX-V667 from USA . Please comment if I am making the right choice or if is there a better solution available in this price range about $400

My Existing set up:

Source: Digital files stored on Xtremer media Player
Music: High bit rate mp3 / FLAC/OGG files
Movies: DVD rips
2 channel stereo Set up for playing Music:
DAC: Cambridge Audio
Stereo Amplifier: Cambridge Audio -Azur 650 A (2X75 W RMS)
Speakers: Mirage OMNI 550 (Nominal power 200W RMS)

Display : Sony Bravia KLV-46V550A

To the above I have added the Center Speaker Mirage Omni C 150 and Rear two Speakers Mirage Omni 150.

To compliment the above, now I plan to add a low cost AVR and make the set up a 5 channel for viewing movies. (will add the woofer at a later date)

My requirements from AVR:
Low cost /Mid range
Up scaling of Video with HDMI connectivity.
Pre outs so that I can use my stereo amp for the front floor standing speakers.
Audio calibration feature

Have I missed out anything important?

Thanks in advance

what do the other posts in this forum suggest? What other AVRs have you considered in your research? Theres a lot of info in the threads and is a good place to start

I did consider Denon 1911 and Onkyo. However ruled them out due to the absence of preouts for front speakers

Its a decent AVR in this price range.

What sets it apart is availability of pre-outs. I bought Yamaha 665 in September for $240 and using it in Mumbai with Step Down Transformer. These models tick all the boxes as per your requirements.

DO ensure that you buy a "Isolation" transformer of 1 KVA at least.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
