Hi,

I am facing a weird issue with my Denon 1611 AVR. At times the sound suddenly stops coming from all the 5 speakers but it continues coming only from the sub woofer & then say within 10 mins the sound is back or sometimes i have to restart the avr & then it gets ok. All the speaker cables are connected properly & there is not much dust inside the equipment. The issue doesn't seems to be of source as it happened with BD & STB both which are connected via HDMI. Moreover this issue is not predictable as when it will be faced. Last month it happened 3-4 times at random intervals, usually all within a week & after a month it happened once. Since the warranty is expiring in next month & in next month i am planning to buy the Polk RTI A7 pair, i better thought of to send it to the dealer which he has took from me & in turn he would be sending to Pro FX to see if there is any hardware issue or at least will get a free servicing done :licklips:

just want to know if anybody else has face the issue. he says it will take 15 days & its really bad these days without the surround sound  & doesn't wish to watch the tv at all

Have you checked source connections HDMI cable/ SPDIF cable ..etc. This may happen when there's some drops from digital cable signal.

Try alternate connection ( with coaxial digital cable.. etc) and try it out.

If there's no issue with source connection then send your prod for service.

hey thanks buddy,

but i do not suspect connection issue because if there is any...then the avr should not play the woofer as well. it sending signals to the subwoofer & incase if it is not getting any sound signals from source then it should not output the sound at all

I had an issue with my 1912 where by the right channel stopped working suddenly. Initially I thought it to be a loose connection or a blown out component or a problem with my right speaker but all connections were proper, nothing seemed to have burned out and when the right speaker was sonencted to another channel it worked ruling out any speaker issues.

Finally i hauled the set to my dealer and it turned out that I needed to get my set flashed and firmware re-installed. The dealer got this done in 2 days from the service centre and my set was as good as new without having to open up the set.

The dealer informed that though this problem is not very common with the 19 series, its quite common with the older series of denon.

This could be a possible cause for your set behaving the way it is so please have the your set checked for software / firmware issues. Also do confirm with the dealer as to the exact nature of the problem (if it is not a software / firmware issue) as it would help you if you face the same problem post your warranty.

Do keep us posted so that others would benefit from the info.

ProFX performed tests on my AVR for 4 continous day & their tests did not reported any issue :o

Have got the AVR back & running & must say they have cleaned it very nicely & can see that i got a very neat free servicing done :D
