The Lenco L3867 is a USB turntable from the current avataar of Lenco. This avataar of Lenco unfortunately is not the original legendary Lenco of Switzerland that is famous for legendary idler drive turntables from the 1950s to the early 1980s. Just like most Chinese manufactured plastic automatic turntables, the L3867 will play for you, what's on the record but you can't really expect outstanding results. One benefit is that you have a USB feature as well and you can rip your record tracks for playback on digital devices. The Lenco of old was well known for high performance idler drive turntables which are in very high demand amoung the audiophile community, world wide. I have the good fortune of owning a mint condition classic Lenco L75 turntable.

I would not say that the L3867 will damage your record collection but you'd probably enjoy it more on a better turntable.

Which part of India are you from? You can connect with the local vinyl enthusiasts from this forum and maybe they can guide you in getting a decent TT to start off. I would recommend finding a semi automatic direct drive Technics TT with the S shaped tonearm.

I second that. If you get a good Technics Direct Drive TT (semi automatic) with the S-Tonearm in good condition. Then you won't need an upgrade for a very very long time, if never.

I have often read that Technics mastered the art of direct drives but direct drives lost a lot of relevance due to many other Japanese manufacturers copying the concept (and were not very successful at it). This may or may not be true but as a result of this statement, personally I have stayed away from the Sonys, JVCs, Akais and other Japanese mass market direct drive turntables.

In Technics DDs, I will always trust.

Having said this, a good Technics DD is very hard to find. Owners are generally keepers and its hard to find someone who would actually part with a pristine Technics DD. Personally, I have still maintained my SL3200 even after indulging in more illustrious ones.

Olx is trustble? Coz today i've seen a technics DD ad for 10000rs. Btw I have a akai-bush rack music system with TT and CD player what is your opinion on this set

Oh no, please don't buy TTs without visually inspecting them and without listening to them.

The Akai bush TT was a pretty decent one. Infact I was wondering why you want to look elsewhere when you have one like this. It is definitely better than the Lenco L3867. Yes with a Technics DD, you'll be upgrading but why not try to get your Akai TT to run well, for some more time till you are very familiar with the format?
