I have read somewhere that LG is introducing its 55" OLED TV in Indian around October. What is the expected price of this OLED TV?

Err I though I read somewhere that it will be launched in the US for around $8000... That comes to Rs4.5 lacs... So I don't expect the Indian price to be above 7-8 lacs...

We will have to wait at least two more years, after the first commercial launch, for the prices to be reasonable for general folks. (Ordinary) BDPs when first launched were insanely priced at near $2000 levels. Till 2006, they were still at $1000 level.

I guess it will be launched for display only - like Maruti did with Kizashi. You don't expect to sell more than 3-4 at that price level.

I too heard that LG OLED will be launched by the year end in india. For US, the launch date will be in september or october.
I agree on the point of them being overpriced but looking at the specs and features, I think Its fairly justified..
