I am planning to hook up my soon to come HD projector to my system, and I need a longish HDMI cable it will go from the source along the wall upto the ceiling and then along the ceiling to the pj. I think about 20 ft +/- may be the appx length. Is it better that I get one from the US( since I am going there shortly) or can I get it from SP Road/Ebay India?

Thanks

George, long HDMI cables are prone to give trouble unless you choose the cable carefully and also make sure it is just a few feet over the required length. Unfortunately, such cables come in standard lengths such as 8/10/12 meters etc.

Buy from a reputed brand. Also see if the cables are directional and install them properly as shown by the manufacturer. I have seen low cost cables completely screw up images and show single colours forcing me to reset the receiver many times.

Cheers

If you are going to the US, order it from monoprice.com

They are cheap and excellent. And if I remember correctly, they give lifetime warranty on their cables.

I am facing a huge problem because of the limited length... my optoma HD20 projector is cieling mounted at quite a distance from the wall which i use to display... so need quite a long cable ( 16 m, i guess) :( .. donno what to do :,(
