Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum and hoping to get some advice. I used to have a Sony BDP-S6700 and really liked it at first, but over time it started having problems with slow menus and occasional disc read errors. After dealing with it for a while, I realized it might be time to upgrade to something more reliable.
I’m looking for a Blu-ray player that works well for both movies and music. Good picture quality, smooth playback, and quiet operation are important to me. I also want it to handle different formats and regions without causing issues.
A few things I’m wondering about:
Thanks in advance for your advice. I’m excited to learn from the community.

A few things I’m wondering about:
- Which current models give the best value for money?
- Are there brands that are known for long-lasting players and fewer disc errors?
- In the mid-range category, is there a noticeable difference in audio quality or are most players similar?
- Are there models I should avoid because of slow menus, noisy drives, or other common issues?
Thanks in advance for your advice. I’m excited to learn from the community.
