Hey guys, I am trying to get the best prices for the following 7.1.4 HT system, quotes for which I have taken from 3 dealers.
I was planning to take quotes from more, but apparently the distributor (Cinebels) puts some sort of a lock which doesn't let dealers make more quotes once its created.
Cinebels gave me an MRP price and straightaway refused to provide me a revised quote because they themselves locked it, I still somehow managed to get it from 3 dealers anyways, Please take a look and let me know if I can get even better prices.

Why not take quotes from HifiMart? Total Home Theatres? I am sure there are other more dealers closer to you who can provide better quotes as long as they are authorised sellers and also provide GST invoice with the proper warranty period. (SVS subs 5 yrs, Denon 1 yr, Klipsch 2 yrs or smthg).

Apparently, ProFX has made a blacklist for unauthorised sellers, which includes the like of AVShack, VPLAK and even HiFimart. Don't know whats going on.

I would check first who are the official dealers / suppliers of brands in India and then also approach the Brand Support (via email) to provide me names / list of official authorised dealers.

ProFX is one of the dealers, I am sure there are more and others in India who are authorised. Not many actually hold a Monopoly!

I would also explore other brands and models of Speakers / AVRs etc.

You could rather choose better speaker options..

Klipsch and Emotiva are a a rip off in India quoting almost double the US price. Please look for other brands where prices are so what comparable - may be 10-20 percent higher than US prices.

For Klipsch, only Cinebels is the distributor,
For likes of Denon, the there are 2, ProFX and Preeti.

Just checked, Klipsch RP8000F-II on Amazon US are $1050. Thats literally half of the best price quoted to me. Atrocious!

I never understand why there's so much running behind pricing?
We need to understand that low pricing is effect of stock liquidation in most cases.
Low pricing mostly ( not always) is seen on mass market brands trying to sell more boxes.

I could go much deeper on this topic but I don't wish to get into arguments, my intention has always been to guide members towards better price to performance rather than price to product ratio.

Good luck 😃

I don’t understand, when buying HiFi gear (atleast in India) there is absolutely NO reference point to as what these things SHOULD cost here. A person will have no idea if he’s overpaying, sometimes even as atrocious as 2X.

So if getting a better idea of how much these things should cost (anti consumer industry) unlike the US where one can search Amazon or Reddit, is called “Running behind pricing”,

So be it.

Not necessarily- international pricing becomes a good reference point for buying electronics in India given that most audiophile category products are not made in India. The question that then arises is why does the Indian consumer get looted (beyond customs duty levy of let’s say 25-30 percent) and why he should accept this ? There are dealers like Hifimart which bring equipment at prices as close to or at times lower than international prices. If Anil can do this why not others ?
Anil once mentioned this to me that smart companies are realising this and trying to bridge the pricing gaps not to dump old boxes but to bring some parity.

I wouldn't get into a conversation on this topic in open forum...
Let's connect . . 😃

This is exactly why this post exists. The Klipsch RP8000F II is priced at $1050 in the US and the best price i’ve received is 2,04,000 after talking to 3 dealers.

So where exactly do I cross check the prices for hifi gear if not on hifivision?

And how exactly is this “running behind pricing”.

You should always do a price check. Even when buying groceries or veggies people haggle for a couple of minutes but when it comes to electronics we are ready to pay 2x or 3x without asking “why”

It is NOT a bad thing to get a better pricing on any product. It is really GOOD to get a better pricing on a product.

Since you do not understand and ask why in an open forum, I guess people are responding to this. It is not an argument but it is a discussion (hence the forum!) and I am sure you know the difference.

As the OP rightly put
1. Denon x3800h
D1 (dealer 1)- 130000 D2- 93900 D3- 105000

If the OP had not checked around D1 would be 38% more expensive compared to D2. This is why people check around (and should not be labelled as running behind pricing) and are happy to have a base price. In this case, it is the same product, no liquidation and if Denon AVR is a Mass market brand then so be it. I am not sure how this can be a discussion about price to performance vs price to product since we are talking about the same product.

BTW, your signature leads to me think that you are a dealer and I could be so wrong! If I am right, all members would appreciate it if you could mention it more explicitly so that it is understood the right way.

Dear OP, Unfortunate to know that you are on the receiving side of this cartel. D2 seems to be good with pricing in all except projector. Since the products are same, I would go with D2 unless the reputation or service of D2 is substantially poorer than D1.
IMO, all dealers, are more or less same. Many of them try to wash their hands when there is an actual need for service. I really hope you would not need a service with your purchases. Regarding projectors, check vividstorm.in for newer projectors with better laser engines (I would go only for laser + optical zoom at minimum) and Horizon 20 series ticks all the bells. Valerion is great but they are asking more premium.

All the best!
