Looking for the best price for a Klipsch RP 7.1.4 HT system.

It is NOT a bad thing to get a better pricing on any product. It is really GOOD to get a better pricing on a product.

Since you do not understand and ask why in an open forum, I guess people are responding to this. It is not an argument but it is a discussion (hence the forum!) and I am sure you know the difference.

As the OP rightly put
1. Denon x3800h
D1 (dealer 1)- 130000 D2- 93900 D3- 105000

If the OP had not checked around D1 would be 38% more expensive compared to D2. This is why people check around (and should not be labelled as running behind pricing) and are happy to have a base price. In this case, it is the same product, no liquidation and if Denon AVR is a Mass market brand then so be it. I am not sure how this can be a discussion about price to performance vs price to product since we are talking about the same product.

BTW, your signature leads to me think that you are a dealer and I could be so wrong! If I am right, all members would appreciate it if you could mention it more explicitly so that it is understood the right way.

Dear OP, Unfortunate to know that you are on the receiving side of this cartel. D2 seems to be good with pricing in all except projector. Since the products are same, I would go with D2 unless the reputation or service of D2 is substantially poorer than D1.
IMO, all dealers, are more or less same. Many of them try to wash their hands when there is an actual need for service. I really hope you would not need a service with your purchases. Regarding projectors, check vividstorm.in for newer projectors with better laser engines (I would go only for laser + optical zoom at minimum) and Horizon 20 series ticks all the bells. Valerion is great but they are asking more premium.

All the best!
Thanks, I have actually forgot to mention that one of the dealers called [the distributor of Denon], to try to match the Denon rates, which pissed of the distributor so much that he actually called us up and gave us an earful (for getting better rates) and when we told them we would only buy from the local authorised dealer (who was in conference with us) he still proceeded to get mad and asked me to buy it from wherever I can find it for cheap and he will not give us warranty.

So apparently the distributor was furious that we managed to get good rates? But as you rightly pointed out, this does infact seem like a cartel, it is REALLY unfortunate that some members here are a part of it, and making it painfully obvious.

I personally have dropped the entire plan of buying an HT. Until I can find a dealer I can trust. And a system which costs close to atleast the US prices, unlike Klipsch.

I would also like to bring to notice the malpractice of Klipsch’s distributor, Cinebels, who made me a quotation at MRP, and then straightaway locked the system for any dealer to generate me another quotation. The quotations I managed had the dealers jump through hoops to get the prices. Cinebels themselves refused to provide me a better quote, they have priced the Onkyo RZ50 around 2.1L, and the RP 8000F II is priced more than twice of that of US.

If this isn’t cartelization, I don’t know what is.
