So i've finally managed to convince my parents to upgrade their 12 yo onida tv which brings me to the forum since i don't have an iota of knowledge regarding tvs.
My parents mostly watch cable tv and since i'm here, i occasionally watch Netflix and YouTube. The budget is 50k.

What i'm looking for:
> 43-55" 4k tv (Android tv preferred)
> good display and audio quality (duh)
> Reputable brand with good longevity

The suggestions i've gotten so far are:

> Oneplus U1 55"

> VU premium 55" - http://dl.flipkart.com/dl/vu-premiu...4?pid=TVSFPENZUMTBQAHG&cmpid=product.share.pp

> VU Pixelight 55" (Out of Stock atm) - http://dl.flipkart.com/dl/vu-pixeli...b?pid=TVSEWPZFFQNDAZCG&cmpid=product.share.pp

> TCL c715 50" - https://www.reliancedigital.in/tcl-111-4-cm-50-inch-ultra-hd-4k-smart-qled-tv-50c715/p/491893430

> Samsung TUE60A 55" - https://www.samsung.com/in/support/model/UA55TUE60AKXXL/

>Samsung TUE60F 55" - https://www.samsung.com/in/tvs/uhd-tv-tue60f/UA55TUE60FKXXL/

> Sony Bravia KDL-43W6603 43" - https://www.amazon.in/dp/B086CGNG4T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XwQbFb14YGSC1

Please feel free to add your suggestions as well and do share your experience and reviews.

For 50k I think oneplus u1 or the tcl c715 is a good choice. However I would recommend seeing them for yourself before deciding.

Hi Nagarjun, thanks for replying. Unfortunately for me, the closest reliance digital store is located at ~50kms from where i live. I'm relying heavily on online reviews and visiting the store amid a pandemic is my last resort.

Also is tcl a reliable brand? I've read on this forum that tcl is notorious for breaking tvs through its sw updates.

From what everyone is saying seems like tcl isn't really consistent with the quality of their updated even though their panels are good. If you don't want to worry about reliability I would recommend the Samsung TUE 55 inch. Its got really good reviews online.

Thank you for the recommendation. How does it fare against sony's w800g series?

Not really sure when it will come out. And cannot really tell until the specs come out. Tcl also doesn't provide a huge difference with their new qled models. So nothing can be said until it's launched.

How's this tv?

Philips 6600 146cm (58 inch) Ultra HD (4K) LED Smart TV

Can't really tell buddy. Not able to find specs for it. Even the website doesn't say anything about brightness or contrast ratio. Usually that isn't a good sign.

A friend of mine bought the 43" variant of tue60a. Here're the links of the sample pics(file size too large to upload):

Thoughts?

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
