My Yamaha rx471 went bad which have been given for services - Seems to be Main PCB board (which already have HDMI out issue too) problem which is going to cost more for me , hence went 2 days surfing on internet & found below as replacement may be bad design , Need Suggestion / advise for Guru's

Consider the cost, effort and time.....

You may be better off purchasing a pre owned avr which will serve your purpose...many tend to update their systems....you may just get lucky....

Yes, efernand1 is correct. You don't know how it will sound till you receive it. A used HT receiver would be a better solution. There are plenty on the Net. Buy it in Chennai and check it out at the owners place before putting your money down. The receiver may be more expensive but at least you get to hear it and determine if it's good.

As Expected, Rs.11000 to fix issues - Mother BD to be replaced (MDB unavailable)
Checked with 2 Service Centers same answers brought back home without Services.

AVR Behavior
* Only Occasionally Power up, hence opened Cabinet to see what is inside. Removed all screws cleaned them with cloth & Eraser, which now resolve the power ON issue Not sure what does guys in Services centers do.
* After 2 Weeks, one of initial Issue returned DSP Programs automatically switches - i.e setting Changes automatically switching between Dolby:music/ movie NEO: music/ movie 2ch/5Ch Mono Movie Adventure etc. Nothing Stop them
* Finally found a way Running AVR on DIRECT Mode. Not sure when this will goes Blank

Running over internet to see whether any solution is available for Fixing DSP programs

The fact is, not every technician who service the AVR are skilled to get it back to shape.. I have a bad experience with local technicians, burnt my money.. Spent as much as 30K reinstating an AVR & nothing worked..:sad:

Only someone who is passionate abt electronics circuitry, will be able to identify the root cause & then suggest if it can be fixed or not..Otherwise, it is a like looking for a needle in the haystack..

For the money you would be spending to reinstate it (11K or more), you are better to consider an used AVR from FM here if budget is an issue.. Else check OLX..Pretty good deals..

Have you tried a master reset on the AVR? Might get lucky if its a software issue.
