Friends,

Can anyone rate the Marantz HP101 Aluminum In Ear earphone

How much do they cost & hows the sound quality?

Specifications (Downloaded from net):

yes one of my colleagues has it - he picked them up from besybuy I think for 60-70 USD from the US a couple of months back. I had a chance to listen to them for an hour during a flight - and I can give you some initial observations.

1. they have a decent build quality and are lookers.
2. midrange is recessed so are the highs - prominent bass though attack and decay is spot on
3. sound stage is small - non existent mostly
4. sound isolation is average - the engine noise did creep in a lil bit

If you are getting it for 2-2.5k, you can go for it else there are other options available in the market. The re0 is guess is a cheap yet pretty good IEM. I use the Beta Brainwavz these days and for 1.6 for it (with the e5amp) i think nothing under the 3-4k segment comes close to it.

Over 5k there are good IEMs available though.
