'Massive' downgrade (presumably) from a full-blown powerful HT setup to a soundbar! Pls advise..

Congrats @MaSh, on your purchase would be great to hear your feedback on your experience with Bose soundbar connected to other sub via Bass port with Bose proprietary bass module cable I guess?

I was thinking of picking up Bose Smart soundbar myself however wasn’t sure if my velodyne Impact 10 (non-Bose Sub) will be supported when connected to Bass port? When checked with Bose phoenix store he wasn’t sure as well. Any inputs/feedback will be highly appreciated.
Hey hi,

I bought bose soundbar 900 for the only reason that it could be connected to a non bose sub. Bose will not acknowledge it.

The combination is awesome. My svs is recognised as a Bose 700 sub. The auto setup works seamlessly and perfectly tunes the system.

Cabling is all generic. Nothing bose specific. However there is a certain combination that works.

1. 3.5mm male to left-right rca. 3.5mm connects to bose.
2. The rca ends need to go into a stereo to mono cable converter.
3. From the mono end, a single rca to RCA cable goes to your sub lfe port. If you want to use left and right on the sub then add another mono to dual rca cable.

MaSh
