Hello!
I have an old (1994) pair of Sonodyne speakers that have been kept unused for several years. Need to replace the speaker cabinet. I have the speaker measures and everything. This will be done in Kolkata. Any idea what material I should use? MDF? Where should I get the panel from?

Many thanks!

Can't say from where you get that, probably from a timber store in your city. Yes as I read in most of the article MDF is the material to go for speaker cabinets. Using a solid wood like teak or sheesham can make the speakers more lovely and heavy. Pure woods can be made more smooth and they give utter shine after polishing but then I dont know how acoustic work with pure wood. Pure wood also increase the expence. With MDF you can use variety of beautiul mica sheets of your choice.

Use MDF, it had good sonic properties, will be easy & cheap to get. Easy to work with & you can choose what look you wanna give it, use a mica or vinyl and such.
