McIntosh dedicated amp stands

Blissfull.
Only thing McIntosh about it is Probably the Price ...
Not to Forget, it might be the company's only other product that outlives their Many Decade lasting Amps by Few More decades.

Unless we get to listen to one (and one without ) comparison, we can't comment upon utility, I personally feel they may be adding some SQ advantages (& that's the reason it has been introduced into Market ) because I feel the Era of Brand Name Value Based Snake Oils is almost Over.

Please do keep in mind that they are 3500 and 4000 GBP i.e. 3.5 lakh and 4 lakh rupees for nicely polished wooden planks with polished feet. You can get brand new Tannoy Turnberrys (a pair of speakers instead of 1 wooden plank) at around 4 lakhs and you can easily keep a Mc mono block on each speaker... Absolute crap at the listed prices...

IMO These are similar to:
https://www.wilsonaudio.com/products/pedestal/pedestal, https://www.mcru.co.uk/product/critical-mass-systems-center-stage-footers/ etc etc. All costing ridiculous amounts with dubious benefits. I don't question the benefits (which in most cases is minor if you ignore all the hyperbole like game-changers, best in the world etc., these products may add, but the cost at which they are sold).
Cheers,
Sid

The same website also sells these:

A nicely polished thick teak plank with these feet should work 97.67% as well as the Mc stands...

Actually this is where subjectivism leads to.;)

I don’t know about the snake oiliism here, but man I wish I was a Ambani…..or better Gates.

It’s not an audio product, but rather audiophile jewellery. When a Rolex can cost as much as it does, why not a branded lump of PUed teak wood/managing wood?

I don’t know about the snake oiliism here[...]

I looked and can't find any direct claims about better audio performance.

In fact, from the product page (https://www.mcintoshlabs.com/products/furniture/AS125): "The AS125 Amplifier Stand is a perfect way to display your McIntosh monoblock amplifiers[...]"

For visual impact, only.

People buy for reasons other than mere functionality. It is what it is.

Exactly, this is not about subjectivism or objectivism but of having enough money that this price is peanuts !. For anyone who buys it is not about the sound anymore. go to any hobby/interest and there are ridiculously priced items which make no sense other than to show the power of $$$.

There are people buying ferraris and lamborghinis in bangalore and keep it as a showcase in their garage. and when they need to drive it they hire a truck to transport it to and fro out of the city. And then there are people who buy 40K usd single malts either as show pieces or drink it and pass it away a few hours later.

Lets not even get to million dollar handbags like this o_O

Last two years, all high end brands have been doing very well. And this includes audio too. Probably the best year for high end audio in the last decade. Speakers, dacs, amps costing upwards of USD 50000 are selling really well. The real moneyed people are finding ways to splurge since not too many options are available. Their partying and travelling has reduced considerably:)

I think it's unfair to bash the product based on only pricing. The stands can sound very good and just because people are unable to afford it, it makes no sense to bash the product.. Would request people to only offer their opinion if they have heard these stands and not bash them just because they can't afford them..

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
